Keep Off The STINKY OFFICE CHAIRS
Doing good business means that every aspect in the workplace should be looked upon. Not only should the employer be on guard for the not-so-good-mannered employees, but it’s also imperative to check often those stinky office chairs, which could really harm the business so bad.
Preventing is the First Step
One did not invest in a business just to soil it with the reputation of having bad furniture. A workplace could have all the latest and modern furniture pieces, or they may only have some of the simplest kind, but neither is safe for having the dreaded stinky office chairs.
It may be hard to avoid, especially in an office where so many people share the same seats, but preventing really is the first way to do about it.

One way to prevent the seats to eventually have an unpleasant odor is to provide seat cover for each. Seat covers can be made in an artistic and fashionable style that the person who will use the chair would not notice that he/she is sitting on one. Although this may mean additional cost, especially for people who are on a tight budget, but in the long run, this would still be a good investment because in this case, the seats would last longer. And because the seat covers can be washed whenever the need arise, instead of buying a replacement for the stinky office chairs if the smell gets too foul, one could just bring the seat covers to be cleaned and it will be ready for use again in no time. What Causes the Smell? The room temperature is also a factor to cause office chairs to smell bad. If it’s hot, then the employees would perspire a lot, which would then be transferred to the chairs where they would sit. Air fresheners also contribute on how the seats would smell. It is advisable to use natural fragrances, not only for the seat’s sake, actually, it is for everybody in the workplace to be comfortable where they are. Airborne dusts cannot be avoided. It is everywhere. This would inexorably settle on seats, which also causes for the furniture to develop a foul smell. If this would not be removed regularly, not only would it be the root of the fetid smell, but can also cause allergic reaction to some people who would use the seat. Don’t Forget Maintenance In case of stains, if by accident, the furniture acquired some kind of stains, remember not to soak but only blot on the spot of the stain. Using a piece of cloth, blot the spot with using rubbing alcohol, dry cleaning fluid, dishwashing liquid or a mild soap, depending on the type of blemish to be removed. Don’t let those stinky office chairs ruin anyone’s day. Just learn how to care for the furniture to keep the business running smoothly. |
